Environment

I have a large house consisting of a playroom, tv/sitting room, dining room, kitchen, hall and cloakroom, all of which are used for childminding. Upstairs is kept for family use except when a younger child requires a daytime nap.

There are lots of age appropriate toys such as baby toys, Lego, shape sorters, mini kitchens, games, dolls/pushchairs, dressing up clothes, puzzles, ICT toys including a camera, metal detector, remote control cars, digital magnifiers and a computer with internet access. We are also extremely lucky to have an Interactive Whiteboard which the children can use with adult supervision.

The children have access to a quiet area where they can choose books to read or look at, or to sit quietly and play.

Outside there is a concreted area to the side of the house brightly decorated with educational information on the walls, and a large sandpit. This area proves very useful in wetter weather.

To the rear of the house is a 90ft garden with a paved patio area, raised fish pond, canopied gravel area (Children love to dig here), mud kitchen, den area, large lawn with multiple  climbing structures and sheds. One shed is solely for the childrens toys and equipment.
